Soundcard of London
Members of the Chatty Maps project have built a map showing the quietest places in big cities.
To compile the map, the specialists used geotagged photos from the Flickr service, which were tagged with the description of sounds. They then split the sound tags into six categories: transportation, nature, animals, people, music, and cars.

On the map, the prevailing sounds are shown in different colors, when you click you can see the percentage of sounds
After that, the authors of the project compiled detailed maps of 12 cities, including London, Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Boston, which showed how each street “sounds”. When you hover over an individual street, you can see the percentage of sounds of different categories. In addition, Chatty Maps can also be used to find the least urbanized areas of a city - those dominated by nature sounds.
Previously, a developer from Mapbox visualized travel routes between points of interest on a world map. He also geotagged photos from Flickr as input.
