Frankie Zapata, founder of Zapata Racing and creator of the Flyboard UFO, has set a new Guinness World Record for hoverboard range. This is reported by Gizmag, full information is available on the official website of the Guinness Book of Records.
A jet-powered hoverboard (jetboard) called the Flyboard UFO is piloted while standing. The aircraft is equipped with a compact jet engine, can climb to a height of up to three kilometers and reach speeds of up to 150 kilometers per hour. The fuel supply is enough for 10 minutes of continuous flight.
The flight range, which broke the last world record, was 2252 meters. During this flight, Zapata took off to a height of 50 meters, however, according to him, the hoverboard can gain a maximum height of three kilometers. In addition, the device develops a speed of up to 150 kilometers per hour. However, since the Flyboard UFO is still in development, the creator is testing the prototype above water and at low altitude.
The previous Guinness record for hoverboard range was 275.9 meters. It was installed last year by the Canadian inventor Catalan Alexandru Duru, who in twelve months independently designed and built the hoverboard, which is a large multicopter.
