Solar Impulse 2 has started the eleventh round-the-world route. The solar-powered plane took off from Phoenix, Arizona and headed for Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was reported in the official twitter of the project.

Bertrand Picard is at the helm of the plane, the planned flight duration is just under 18 hours. Landing at Tulsa International Airport is scheduled for May 13 at 6:50 am Moscow time. The flight can be watched live on YouTube.

Solar Impulse 2 is a solar powered aircraft that does not use any other energy source. It was originally planned that the SI2 round-the-world trip project would last for about five months and would consist of 12 sections of the route with a total length of 35,000 kilometers, but later due to weather conditions and breakdowns, the project team had to change the route. The plane made its previous flight on May 3.
