Startup Machina unveiled a virtual reality jacket last week. The development is reported by IEEE Spectrum.

It took the developers about three years to develop a VR jacket called OBE (Out of Body Exprerience). It has built-in motion sensors, touch controllers and a vibration motor for haptic recoil. In addition, OBE is made of moisture resistant material and is completely machine washable.

The prototype jacket connects wirelessly to game consoles. Its creators expect that the first games that will be compatible with OBE will appear in December this year.

The starting price of this new item will be $ 199. Machina said Samsung has ordered 500 VR jackets and plans to use them for software development and consumer testing.

The company also plans to create VR pants and VR gloves in the future.

At the moment, there are already a number of wearable VR devices. For example, Sony Computer Entertainment has created a glove that can track the movements of an individual phalanx. It will help the user wearing virtual reality glasses to interact with 3D objects in computer games. Also last year, Impacto created a bracelet designed to convey the physical sensation of colliding with an object in virtual reality.
