SpaceX's BFR rockets will deliver the first payloads to the surface of Mars in 2022, and the first colonial-builder team will reach the planet by 2024. This was announced by the founder of the company Elon Musk in his speech at the International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide (Australia).
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk spoke about plans to colonize Mars back in 2011: then he announced that the first man would be on the surface of the "red planet" within the next 10-20 years. The company planned to land the first ship, the Dragon drone, on the surface of Mars in 2018, but then the flight was shifted several times: in the end, Musk completely abandoned the jet landing of the ship.
Now it became known about the new plans of the company to begin construction of the Martian city. The company posted a short video of his plan on its official Twitter.
In addition to space transportation, SpaceX is also engaged in the modernization of terrestrial and air transport.
