Replaceable Printer Extruders

A campaign has begun to raise funds for the production of a portable 3D printer capable of using different types of raw materials for printing. You can read more on the project's Kickstarter page.

The Focus printer is equipped with magnetic mounts that allow you to quickly replace the extruder depending on the raw material used for printing. At the moment, the possibility of printing products from various plastics, nylon, bronze, ceramics, wood chips, silicone and even chocolate has been demonstrated. In this case, the printer does not require calibration after replacing the extruder.

The portable printer weighs seven kilograms and folds into a compact aluminum case. To purchase the first copies of a 3D printer, you need to donate to the project from two thousand euros.

Typically, most 3D printers can print with any one type of raw material. This seriously limits the owners of printers in choosing the object of printing, since not everyone is ready to buy several devices with practically the same functionality. Focus is confident that they were able to successfully address this issue and are continuing to expand the range of interchangeable extruders to cover as wide a range of materials as possible.
